What Is Baptism?

Baptism is one of the first acts of obedience for those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ. It is a visible picture of the new life God has given through His Son.

While baptism does not save us, it is an important step that demonstrates our commitment to follow Jesus and share our faith with others.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

Why Should I Be Baptized?

Throughout the New Testament, those who trusted in Christ responded by being baptized. Baptism is an act of worship and obedience that reflects the transformation God has already accomplished in the believer's heart.

When you are baptized, you are:

  • Publicly declaring your faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Identifying with His death, burial, and resurrection.
  • Demonstrating your desire to follow Him.
  • Celebrating the new life you have received through the Gospel.

Baptism is for anyone who has personally placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and desires to follow Him in obedience.

Your Baptism Day

When you're baptized at Adirondack Christian Fellowship, you'll have the opportunity to publicly share your faith before your church family.

Before your baptism, a pastor or ministry leader will walk with you through the meaning of baptism, answer your questions, and help you prepare for the day.

On the day of your baptism, you'll be baptized by immersion as a testimony of your new life in Christ.
